On Leopard, one of the most annoying things about the new ‘stacks’ feature (where folders dragged onto the dock get ‘fanned out’ when you click them), is that the icon that represents the stack is always the one that is first depending on how you sort the stack. For example, if you have an ‘Applications’ stack, sorted alphabetically, the stack will always (likely) show the ‘Address Book’ icon as its icon. Hardly intuitive!

However! Go here – http://www.geocities.jp/chy065/ – to download a set of great little icons that will always sit at the front of their reletive stacks, making it look like they’re in a little ‘pot’. It looks like this :-

A lot prettier than before, and not confusing as hell! Just drag and drop the icon into the relevant stack (not directly from the downloaded file, but via the desktop firt – dunno why!), and it changes to have that icon at the front.

lovely!

Just one thing to note – make sure you sort the stack my ‘Date Modified’. The dates on the stack icons have been changed to some time in 2010, meaning that they will always appear on top.

My Wife and I have just returned from the place that I love more than any other on this planet, Egypt. It was damn hot this time (hit 50 degrees at one point according to the thermometer!), but still managed to fire off a fair few shots. I’ll be posting some very soon, but until then, here’s the first pair. The boy was looking at me and sort of making boxing type movements, (a born showoff by the look of things!) so I snapped this one of him. The sunset is REAL. No changing of saturation or anything in the shot. It’s basically as I shot it!

My first post. First of many. Hmmm…. How many times have I said that, in how many web-based ventures? Answer? More times than I can possibly remember.

Thing is, I’ve worked like a horse to get this one working, and I hope to take it forward. Also – I’m paying MONEY to have the MySQL facility to run WordPress on the server, so if I don’t use it, I’m flushing that good cash down the proverbial bog. No category can define the wonderment of my first foray into this strange new world, so I’ll leave it ‘uncategorized’. Hopefully, that’ll be the last time I do so (if my categories end up working as I want them to!).

So there… more than one reason to skin a goat (or whatever…)

Poor goat… Looks so inoffensive. I think I’ll leave it’s skin intact and find some other way to metaphorize (is that a word? Suppose it is now…).

Anyhows… Take a look around. My photography gallery is currently linked from Flickr to the right (though I’ll be bringing that in-house soon), and there’s a nifty little javacript song player to give you somewhat of a soundtrack whilst you read my witterings.

Axe.
